Bonnyville and St. Paul football teams meet up on the gridiron

St. Paul won the match, 49-10.

ST. PAUL - The stands were filled with fans at the Friday night football that featured the St. Paul Lions and Bonnyville Voyageurs as the two neighbouring communities came together under the lights in St. Paul.

By half, the Lions had the game solidly in hand, and would continue to push, although the Voyageurs would not give up. As the fourth quarter wrapped up, the final would be 49-10 in favour of the Lions.

Elsewhere in the Wheatland Football League, the Cold Lake Royals would meet up against the Wainwright Commandos, in Cold Lake, where the home team would win by a decisive score of 44-0.

This week, Bonnyville will travel to Wainwright for a Sept. 22 match, while Cold Lake will head to Lloydminster to take on the Holy Rosary Raiders. St. Paul gets a bye week.
