Bonnyville football season wraps up

'They played their hearts out this season and I think we sparked a love for football in two dozen kids that have never played before and that’s really the main focus of our program,' Renegades Head Coach says.

BONNYVILLE – After spending nearly two years off the field, the Bonnyville Renegades peewee football team pulled in enough players to have an action packed season full of fun.

“I’m happy with the progress the Renegades made this season,” head coach Rohdy Reed, told Lakeland This Week. “In preseason we were concerned we were not going to have players to field a team after being off the field for nearly 2 years.”

By the time the regular season started, the Renegades managed to build a roster of over 30 kids with only a handful of returning players.

“They played their hearts out this season and I think we sparked a love for football in two dozen kids that have never played before and that’s really the main focus of our program,” said Reed. “Based on our turn out this season I think the Renegades and Bonnyville Football are going to have some strong teams in the years to come.”
