Clippers will need Sunday pick-me-up after Saturday beating

Cheer on the Clippers at 4pm Sunday ... they need some cheer.

Ouch.

Lac La Biche's Junior B Hockey team was trampled by the Wainwright Bisons on Saturday night in their first game of the 2021-22 Northeast Junior B Hockey League season.

When the dust settled from the stampede in the Wainwright arena, the Clippers were on the receiving end of a 14-1 pummeling. It is the most lob-sided score against the Lac La Biche junior B program in its recent franchise history.

Sunday Ice

The team is hoping fan support for their season home-opener at the Bold Center later today might help them forget their Bison bruises.

The home game, against the Cold Lake Ice, starts at 4 pm.

The Ice have already played two league games in the last week, winning both and posting an impressive 12-goal tally.

All Clippers home games at the Bold Center fall under the province's Restriction Exemption Program, meaning all fans must provide proof of vaccine before they can enter the stands.
