First of two weekend Voyageurs' games postponed

According to league schedulers, Friday nights' ACAC hockey game between the Portage College Voyageurs and the Augustana Vikings has been postponed.

The Vikings and Voyageurs were scheduled to play the first game of a weekend home-and-home stand on Friday in Augustana's Camrose-based rink, with the opening puck drop at 7pm, but the ACAC's online schedule changed on Friday to say the game is postponed.

Saturday's return game at Lac La Biche's Bold Center was still on the schedule as of Friday night.  If the game goes ahead, the puck drops at 7 pm. at the Performance Arena.

The only meeting between the two teams this season was on November 26, with the Vikings coming away with a narrow 4-3 win over the Voyageurs.

Going into the weekend games, the Voyageurs are in last place of the Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference with no wins in their first six games of the season. The Vikings are just two points ahead of Portage with one win and five losses in their first six games.

The weekend games between NAIT and Concordia have also been postponed by league officials.

Lakelandtoday.ca did attempt to contact Portage College's Athletics Director Stephen Anthony, but he could not be reached for comment by the time of the initial publication of this story.
