It’s in the sports section... but is it really a sport? Lotsa fun though...

The Lac La Biche Firefighters’ Society is hosting their annual Winter Snowpitch Tournament this weekend on the snow-covered Lac La Biche Recreation Grounds. Ten teams from across the Lakeland braved the cold (and flu) to play.

In case you were wondering  — they say they're having fun.

That's the general consensus of teams — in between gasps of cold -21 degree Lac La Biche air — at the Lac La Biche Firefighters' Society Snow Pitch Tournament.

Ten teams committed to the Saturday and Sunday event, despite the cold and flu ... cold temperatures and COVID flu ... to play in knee-deep-with-snow baseball diamonds in the fun tourney.

Teams will have some heat later tonight for the players' shaker at the Lakeland Agricom.

The event, which has been running since 2015,  is an annual fundraiser and awareness-maker for the society that supports Lac La Biche County firefighters and first responders.
