Bonnyville Jr. A Pontiacs graduate and former assistant captain Devon Kalinski has committed to attend the University of Lethbridge (U of L) this fall.

Kalinski becomes the sixth and final graduate from last season's roster to pursue post-secondary education and continue with high-level hockey.

“Getting an education is important,” said Kalinski. “I've talked to the coach and a few players (in Lethbridge). They have a good team there and I hope I can help it out in any way I can.”

Kalinski has spent five years in junior hockey and sees this as a great opportunity to grow as a player and person.

“I am very privileged and blessed to get to go to (U of L) and continue to play hockey. I am going to make the best of it and give back because people have given so much to me.”

Over three seasons with the Pontiacs, Kalinski gradually increased his point total, culminating with his best season last year, where he picked up 32 goals, 27 assists and 140 penalty minutes in 57 games. He was also one of the team's playoff leaders, scoring nine points in nine games, during the Pontiacs' run into the third round last season.
