Opening ceremonies for two events keep Plamondon and Lac La Biche arenas busy

Friday saw opening ceremonies for two local hockey championships

Friday afternoon was  a busy one  at Plamondon and Lac La Biche arenas, as both communities hosted their own opening ceremonies for two different provincial hockey championships.

In Plamondon, the U15 Tier 1 no-body-contact Provincials has taken over the Plamondon Arena for 15 games of championship action. In Lac La Biche, the Bold Center ice is and the Lac La Biche U13 Clippers are hosting the Tier 3 U13 Provincials.

Games play throughout the weekend in both communities with eight teams in each event playing three round robin games leading up to Sunday's semifinal and finals.

The championships games go Sunday afternoon in each community.
