Maybe the Storm should have just stayed home, as the Bonnyville Jr. A Pontiacs welcomed Grande Prairie to town by beating them in back-to-back contests Friday and Saturday night at the R.J. Lalonde Arena. Neither game came easy for the Pontiacs this weekend, said head coach and general manager Chad Mercier, but the teams provided the fans with some entertaining hockey. The Pontiacs took Friday's affair 5-2, before taking Saturday's back and forth battle 6-3. "Give Grande Prairie some credit, they have some talented players over there," said Mercier. "But our guys really came to play this weekend and it really made for some high tempo, entertaining hockey. And we're glad to be coming out of it with the four points." The Pontiacs got scoring Friday from Kevin Carthy, who scored a short-handed goal in the first, Tanner Dusyk, who notched two on the night, Tommy Barszcz, who continues to lead the team in goals with 17, and from newcomer Keith Csizmadia, who scored on the open net after receiving a feed from Carthy. Csizmadia also picked up an assist on the night, while defenceman Jordon Krankowsky picked up a pair of helpers. Dusyk and Barszcz both scored again Saturday, while Logan Harland added a pair of goals in the win. Levi Ansell and Austen Hebert also scored Saturday, with teammate Dallas Ansell adding two assists.
