The Bonnyville Jr. A Pontiacs let one slip away at home on Wednesday night. After dominating the Fort McMurray Oil Barons for the better part of the game, outshooting them 43-22, a couple of late mistakes resulted in a tough 2-1 loss.

The girls stole the show at the Centennial Centre on the weekend. Both the Bonnyville Centralized High School (BCHS) and Notre Dame High School (NDHS) girls' teams came away with medals at the 24-team volleyball tournament on Sept.

The St. Paul Bengals football team hit the road on Sept. 20 for a Bantam matchup against Bonnyville. The Bengals fell behind early, mainly due to two long punt return touchdowns by the home team.

The St. Paul Lions football team suffered a disappointing loss at the hands of the Bonnyville Voyageurs on Sept. 19 in St. Paul. The game was scheduled to kickoff at 7 p.m.

The St. Paul Junior B Canadiens played an inter-squad Red and White Scrimmage on Sept. 21 at the Clancy Richard Arena.

A single point is all the Bonnyville Jr. A Pontiacs managed to pick up on Friday night, dropping the home opener 3-2 in a shootout to the Lloydminster Bobcats.

The Town of St. Paul held its annual Terry Fox Run on Sept. 14. The weather cooperated for the event, as 32 local runners, walkers and bikers set out under sunny skies at 1 p.m., starting from the St. Paul Rec. Centre.

First-year Voyageur Reid Skrypichayko scored two touchdowns and threw for another as the Bonnyville Voyageurs marched their way to a 28-20 victory over the visiting Wainwright Commandos on Friday evening.

The Lakeland Rodeo Association named its 2014 champions after a wild and western weekend of competition at the showdown finals in St. Paul, Aug. 28 to 31.

While most golf courses begin closing down with the setting sun, the Mann Lakes Golf Course did something a little different on Aug. 31. As darkness fell, the course brought out some glowing flags and balls, and teed off for a round of night golf.
