his year’s triathlon will feel more like a “dry-athlon,” as the swimming portion of the popular Pow Wow Days race has been axed due to several water concerns. “We unfortunately need to change the triathlon to a biathlon,” said organizer Lori Girard.

The 2012 Alberta Summer Games took place in Lethbridge from July 26 to 29 with a number of competitors travelling from the Lakeland area to compete.

Although the season is already more than halfway through, the St. Paul Tennis Club is still encouraging new members to join and learn about the sport. For the younger players, a summer camp will be taking place from Aug.

Forget about the Tour de France; St. Paul has its own non-competitive version in Tour de Lakeland, in which people can come out and take on a 60 kilometre bike ride from St. Paul to Saddle Lake and back again in an event set to take place Aug. 11.

One last look at this year's Bonnyville Chuckwagons.

Bonnyville held its 5th annual chuckwagon championships, which made history with champion Kirk Sutherland landing himself a new record time. Sutherland won the money everyday except for the first day.
