A team representing the Edmonton Fire Department was victorious this past weekend at the 53rd Alberta Firefighters Curling Championship Bonspiel hosted by the St. Paul Fire Department and Town of St. Paul.

The season ended for the Saddle Lake Warriors this past weekend after being swept by the Vegreville Rangers in the North Eastern Alberta Junior B Hockey League playoffs.

The North East Alberta Track Club, based in St. Paul, won the Club of the Year award at the 2011 Athletics Alberta Annual Awards, which took place at the Palace Banquet & Conference Facility in Edmonton on Feb. 11.

Both the Ashmont Falcons senior girls and boys basketball teams won the home tournament this past weekend after defeating local opponents as well as teams from as far away as Red Deer.
