WINNIPEG — Lyle Bauer, a former CFL player and executive, has died. He was 65. The Winnipeg Blue Bombers, the team Bauer played for and later served as CEO, announced Bauer's death on its Instagram page Wednesday.

JOHANNESBURG (AP) — South African boxer Dingaan Thobela, a two-weight world champion known as “The Rose of Soweto,” has died, the ministry of sports said on Tuesday. He was 57.

LONDON (AP) — British author C.J. Sansom, best known for his historical crime novels featuring the Tudor lawyer and investigator Matthew Shardlake, has died, his publisher said Monday. He was 71.

KIYV, Ukraine (AP) — Mykhailo Fomenko, a former Soviet-era player for Dynamo Kiev who went on to coach Ukraine's national team at the European Championship, has died, the Ukrainian club said Monday. He was 75.

CLIFTON, N.J. (AP) — Korey Cunningham, an offensive lineman who played for three NFL teams during a five-year career, has died. He was 28. Police said Cunningham was found dead Thursday in his Clifton, New Jersey, home.
