PRINCE GEORGE, B.C. — The Saskatoon Blades scored four goals in the third period to defeat the Prince George Cougars 5-2 in Western Hockey League action on Tuesday night.

WINNIPEG — Pierre-Luc Dubois didn't feel rusty when the Winnipeg Jets were sent to their first shootout of the season. Dubois and Mark Scheifele scored in the shot contest to give the Jets a 3-2 victory over the Seattle Kraken on Tuesday.

NEW YORK (AP) — Tim Stutzle and Drake Batherson each scored in the shootout and the Ottawa Senators defeated the New York Islanders 3-2. Stutzle and Brady Tkachuk each recorded a goal and an assist in regulation.

TORONTO — It took Jakob Poeltl three games to find his role in the Toronto Raptors' offence. When he did, the results were impressive. Poeltl's 30 points were one shy of a career high as he led the Raptors past the Orlando Magic 123-113 on Tuesday.

MONTREAL — Ukraine Team Select, a hockey team consisting of 11- and 12-year-old refugees displaced by war in their home country, rubbed shoulders with hockey royalty on Tuesday when they met the NHL's Montreal Canadiens.

Vancouver Canucks goalie Thatcher Demko is close to returning to game action. The 27-year-old netminder told reporters Tuesday that he plans to act as the Canucks' backup on Saturday when Vancouver hosts the Philadelphia Flyers.

MONTREAL — Cody Fajardo has a new CFL home. The veteran quarterback signed a two-year deal with the Montreal Alouettes on Tuesday, the first day of CFL free agency.
