TORONTO — The Toronto Arrows open their fourth Major League Rugby season Sunday at the Seattle Seawolves. A look at the Arrows: Last Year: Based out of Marietta, Ga., due to pandemic-related travel restrictions, the team went 5-11-0.

TORONTO — The Toronto Argonauts re-signed American defensive back Chris Edwards on Friday. Edwards, 29, appeared in 14 regular-season games with Toronto in 2021, his first year with the club.

HAMILTON — The Hamilton Tiger-Cats re-signed Canadian offensive lineman Jesse Gibbon on Friday. Gibbon, 25, appeared in 14 regular-season games with Hamilton, starting two, in 2021. The six-foot-five, 300-pound native of Waterloo, Ont.

MONTREAL — The Montreal Alouettes signed American quarterback Dominique Davis to a one-year deal Friday. Davis spent the last three seasons with the Ottawa Redblacks after starting his CFL career with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers (2015-17).

CALGARY — The Calgary Stampeders re-signed Canadian receiver Richie Sindani on Friday. The six-foot-two, 216-pound Regina native was slated to become a free agent Tuesday. Sindani appeared in all 14 regular-season games last season, starting one.

OTTAWA — Veteran offensive lineman Jon Gott signed a one-day contract with the Ottawa Redblacks on Friday to retire as a member of the CFL franchise. "It just felt like the right time," said Gott, who last played for Ottawa in 2018.

Quebec middleweight Marc-Andre (Powerbar) Barriault is a long way from his hometown of Gatineau, Que., and former training base of Quebec City these days.

TORONTO — The CFL's board of governors will begin searching for a new chairman. The league made the announcement Friday, adding the board is following a recommendation put forth by Dale Lastman, the current chairman.
