On September 28, 2020, Mrs. Muriel Ducharme of Elk Point, Alberta passed away at the age of 91 years.  Muriel had an incredible zest for life, and caring and nurturing spirit which she continued to demonstrate in her final days.  She is survived by her loving granddaughter, Celeste (Elson) Castillo; great-granddaughter, Kaitlin “Kate” (Cody) Jensen; daughter-in-law, Kathy Ducharme; brother, Marcel Lafreniere; sister, Lorraine Leduc; numerous nieces & nephews.  Muriel was predeceased by her husband, Armand; son, Rejean; brothers, Maurice, Roger, Yvon, Romeo Real, Albert; and sisters, Delores, Yolande, Helene and Gisele.

Family would like to extend their sincere gratitude to the staff of Heritage Lodge for ensuring she was well cared for, the staff at Elk Point Hospital for their commitment to ensure comfort in her final weeks, as well as Muriel's dear friends and extended family who took time to visit her and show her love and support.  

Cremation has taken place, with inurnment to be held at a later date in St. Joseph Roman Catholic Cemetery, Fort Kent.  As Muriel's family remains committed to carry out her predetermined wishes, a Memorial Mass and a Celebration of Life will be held in Fort Kent and Elk Point at a later date when it is safe to do so.  An intimate celebration with immediate family is planned for the next couple of weeks and will be recorded to be shared with friends and family.  Should you wish to receive a copy of this celebration please forward your e-mail address to Celeste at [email protected].  If desired, donations may be made to Elk Point Heritage Lodge Auxiliary c/o 5626 - 51 Street, St. Paul, AB T0A 3A1.  To send condolences online, please visit www.gracegardensfuneralchapel.com.
