It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of
Peter Grobel on Sunday, August 15 at the age of
84 years young in Red Deer Alberta.
Peter was born in 1937 in Columbine, AB in a log cabin to
Madora & Oswald Grobel. He was the 5th of 8 children.
Peter grew up on the family farm in Columbine where
he attended grade school. Peter went on to further his
education at the U of A. After university, Peter established a
career in the oil and gas industry.
Peter met the love of his life Margaret and married her in
1965. Peter became an instant father of 4 young
children – Sandra, Randy, Jack and Jerry. Soon the twins,
Les & Suzanne were born. Shortly after Bonnie appeared
and than a few years later Margie.
They started their lives together inTherien then moved
to Lloydminster and settled in Lacombe. After Margaret
passed, Peter moved to a lodge in Red Deer.
Peter had a heart of gold and would give the shirt off his
back for anyone! He was a wonderful husband, father,
grandfather, great grandfather and great great grandfather
who will be forever missed but never forgotten.
A viewing will be held on Friday, August 27 from
1 pm - 3p.m. at Eventide Funeral Home, 4820 45 Street,
Red Deer AB CA, T4N 1K5. As well as a burial service in
Glendon, AB at the Glendon Seniors Centre
Monday, September 6 at 11am.
Memorial donations may be made to the Diabetes
Association or a charity of one’s choice.
