Kryzanowski, Harvey

Obit-new

It is with profound sadness that the family of Harvey Kryzanowski of Glendon announces his passing on January 27, 2022, at the age of 86. Harvey took pride in being an active member of the community, serving as a beloved school bus driver for 47 years. He could name every child he ever drove on his bus and cared deeply about every one. Harvey valued community service and was a proud member of the Glendon Fire Department for 36 years, serving as Fire Chief for 21 of those years. He volunteered in the Glendon Curling Club and the Glendon Agricultural Society, looking after rinks and coaching little league. An avid curler, he was fiercely proud to represent his beloved hometown of Glendon in bonspiels all over Alberta, demonstrating grace and good-sportsmanship wherever he went. A genuine “people person”, Harvey had the biggest heart and he loved hunting (especially moose), fishing, driving gravel truck in the summer, travelling, playing crib, family dinners, summers at the cabin at Minnie Lake, and anything else that gave him an opportunity to socialize, meet new people and discover new places.  Above all, Harvey loved his family and friends.  He is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Rita (nee Guilbault); children, Derek (Lisa), Kerry, and Sharol (Dale) Zalaski; 8 grandchildren, Ian, Kayla, Kody, Kyle & Kelsey Kryzanowski, Lauren, Rebecca & Sam Zalaski; great-granddaughter, Harper McCaffrey; brother, Malcolm (Lillian); sister, Thelma (Edward) Watrich; numerous nieces & nephews.  Mr. Kryzanowski was predeceased by his father, Yeels; mother, Nina; brother, Peter Dranchuk; sister, Eileen Elanik.  A Private Memorial Service will be held at Grace Gardens Funeral Chapel, St. Paul with Pastor Kelly Sibley officiating. Those wishing to view the service online may do so by Livestream on Thursday, February 3 at 1:00 p.m. by clicking the Live Service tab on our website.  A recording of the service will also be made available. If desired, donations may be made to Heart and Stroke Foundation c/o 5626 - 51 Street, St. Paul, AB T0A 3A1.
