It is with deep sadness that our family announces the passing of Donald Young. Donald was born near Youngstown, Alberta and grew up in the Elk Point, Alberta area. He worked in the oil industry for many years, spent many winters in Indio, California in his retirement years and summers at his cabin on Muriel Lake. He is survived by his second wife, Karen and his son, Kevin Young (Brenda) all of Sherwood Park, Alberta and by Karen's sons David Roberts (Michele) of California and Doug Roberts (Elizabeth) of Calgary. He is also survived by his grandchildren: Christopher Young (Katherine), Daniel Young (Kaley), Nicole Roberts, (Evio), James Roberts, Laura Moffitt and Eric Moffitt. He also leaves three very special great grandsons, Logan, Caden, and James. He was predeceased by his first wife Phyllis, brothers Glenn and Gary, his parents Earl and Estella and brother-inlaw George. He is survived by sister-inlaw Adele, Lois, Lyn, Barbara and brother-in law Harold and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Canadian Parkinson's Foundation or the Canadian Cancer Society or a charity of your choice. A celebration of life will not be held at this time and a private family gathering will occur at a later date.
