Youzwishen, Olga high res
The children of OLGA YOUZWISHEN (Fodchuk) are saddened to announce their mother’s sudden passing on February 7, 2021, at the age of 85, after a courageous and brief battle with COVID-19. Olga spent most of her life with her husband, Orest Youzwishen in Vegreville, living the past 18 years in Bonnyville, near her youngest daughter and growing family. She was a master of all things creative; loving cooking (Ukrainian of course), baking, sewing, designing, decorating, and entertaining. Olga was especially passionate about her beautiful flower gardens. Working alongside Orest in their photography business, Ernie’s Photo Studio in Vegreville, she further developed many artistic talents. Later in life, Olga owned and operated her own cleaning company. Olga is fondly remembered for her dynamic personality, enthusiastic voice, sparkling smile, and her meticulous style and beauty. Her generous spirit, whether a friendly “Hello”, a shared laugh, or an offering of homemade baking, would brighten anyone’s day. She was especially attentive to her children and grandchildren, the love of which will be sorely missed. Olga’s memory is held dear by her three children: Odette, Odessa (Michael) and their sons, Taras, Kaelem and Daelyn, and Oliver (Carrie) and their sons, John and William. Olga was predeceased by her husband Orest (of 41 years) in 1994, her daughter Olivia, and her grandson Karim. She is also survived by nine siblings, and many nieces and nephews. A private funeral service was held on Friday, February 12 at Autumn Rose Funeral Home in Vegreville. The Rev. Fr. Peter Haugen of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of Canada led the service, followed by interment at Riverside Cemetery. Full obituary and memorial tributes available at www.autumnrosefuneralhome.com
