It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Richard Zarowny of Fort Saskatchewan, formerly of Elk Point, on June 23, 2020, at the age of 71 years.  Richard is survived by his loving mother, Josie Zarowny; brother, Lawrence (Helen); 2 nieces, 1 great-niece, 1 great-nephew & numerous cousins.  Richard was predeceased by his father, Anton.  

Richard completed his high school education in Elk Point, and attended University of Alberta, where he obtained his B.Sc & B.Ed Degrees in Industrial Arts.  He furthered his education by obtaining his Automotive Tech from SAIT, and received his Journey Motor Mechanics & Welding at NAIT.  Most of his working career was teaching Industrial Arts.  He loved spending his winters in Parksville on Vancouver Island.  

A private Prayer Service will be held at Grace Gardens Funeral Chapel, St. Paul, with Reverend Father Andrij Nykyforuk officiating.  A private Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Michael’s Roman Catholic Church, Elk Point.  Reverend Father Gerard Gauthier will be the celebrant, with interment in Holy Eucharist Ukrainian Catholic Cemetery, Elk Point.  If desired, donations may be made to Canadian Diabetes Association or St. Paul Royal Canadian Legion Branch 100 c/o 5626 - 51 Street, St. Paul, AB  T0A 3A1.  To send condolences online, please visit www.gracegardensfuneralchapel.com.
