ZINIEWICZ, Stanley

Stanley obit

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Stanley Ziniewicz on the warm, sunny afternoon of March 7, 2021 at the age of 90.

Stanley was born on December 7, 1930 and lived in the St. Paul Area his entire life, where he farmed and worked for the County of St. Paul.  He lived a fulfilling, happy life … grateful for the gifts of family, friends, good food, the land and country music.  He revelled in the beauty of sunsets and nature. While at the house “the door was always open” to welcome guests who had the time to share a story, a viewpoint, a snack, a cup of tea and some laughter.  Stan truly enjoyed all that life in rural Alberta had to offer. He will be missed!

Stan is survived by his loving wife, Helen (of 68 years); devoted son, Dennis; daughter, Sandra (George); daughter, Wendy (Ken); and grandchildren, Nathan, Vanesa and Jared. Stan was predeceased by his father, Pete; mother, Sophie; brother, Alex; and sister, Stella.

Heartfelt thanks go to the staff at St. Paul Extendicare where Stan resided in the final phase of his life.  Dad often marvelled that he would not have had better care and attention if he were the President of the United States … a true testimony to the “outstanding” efforts exhibited by caring individuals.

Due to Alberta Health regulations a small graveside ceremony and interment has taken place.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Haying in the 30’s (Cancer Support Society) c/o 5626 - 51 Street, St. Paul AB   T0A 3A1.
