Spring has sprung at last.
Spring has sprung at last. This is a busy time of year as we wash the winter mud off our trucks, gear up for rodeos and other summer festivities, get our garden ready for planting, work on our golf games or plant the fields for another season's crops.
Don't forget, while getting ready for the fun and games of summertime, to take a few hours out of your day this coming Sunday to make sure your mother knows you care.
Mothers often go unrecognized even though they are so important in our lives. Their care, influence and concern are major contributing factors in how we grow and learn and the choices we make.
Whether your mother spends her time cheering you on, worrying you'll make the wrong choice, offering advice both good and bad or just patiently waiting for you to make a mistake and realize she was right all this time, each of us owes a huge debt of gratitude to our mothers. It's important to make sure they know we love them, not only on Mother's Day but every day of the year.
This Mother's Day, rather than worrying about what gift to get your mother, think about giving her the gift of time instead. We're all so busy these days - show your mother you care by setting aside a few hours just for her. Call her, take her for lunch, visit and watch that same old sappy movie she never gets tired of. She'll probably value the time you spend together far more than another bouquet of flowers.
