Wow, how uninformed is this guy? I agree that he has no idea the definition of "woke" or the purpose of DEI. He just parrots whatever trump says, that in itself should give all of us the willies. Again with the plastic straws - what is wrong with UCP, definitely not a conservative viewpoint at all. Stick to matters of importance, not bringing back plastic straws - that is childish behaviour.

Here's the thing, Smith is not a Conservative at all - never forget that. She said Albertans are exactly same type of people as are in Texas, so we better start practising y'all. And she issued a demand to Mark Carney that plastic straws, bags and cutlery must come back. Don't we all agree that is top of our list for things that need to be done! The funniest thing is she got PP to say that as well in his campaign speeches - or perhaps they have been trading amusing lines back and forth. It makes me sick to think of her picture at Mar a Lago, grinning with Trump and O'leary. Sure, she was "influencing". I don't call that diplomacy or courage as she says, that's kissing the ring in my opinion.

This is flat out icky. One paragraph where he states economic issues and what his party would do and the rest is about his church and regulated religion. Politics and religion do not mix and further he should not be talking about Christianity, when there are many religions in the world. I find his attitude insulting and controlling.

Well, this is bad no matter what started it but if it was racial - it is worse. I feel very sorry for Mr. Hadday and his family. The language used was inexcusable. The damage physically and mentally to Mr. Hadday was also inexcusable.

I'm happy to see Avni Soma is running for NDP in the Yellowhead riding. It's a big riding and if elected she will have to work for everyone in it, not just Canmore. Don't confuse an MP job with the job of an MLA. I hope that if she wins, she will be able to highlight the entire Yellowhead district, because we need very active representation.

I agree that it is not a good thing that Poilievre would "get along" with Trump. Having watched several protests and town meetings in the U.S. , I can see that sane Americans think Trump is a lunatic, just like us sane Canadians. I would encourage everyone to write emails to Smith and copy Sarah Elmeligi to let them know you are upset about Smith's comments. Regardless of which party or rep you would vote for - Sarah is our MLA and needs to fight for us. Also write to the realtor in Cochrane, Blake Richards MP- personally I'm getting sick of the catch phrases, "common sense", "axe the tax" (yes, he had to get rid of that one), "shovel ready jobs". Apparently PP is going to focus on mines as well - great, coal mining to further wreck our environment in the name of money.

Good job Bob, I appreciate your writing skill. The reference to "Stand on Guard For Thee" is particularly moving. Lots of ways we can show that we are part of a wonderful country, that does not have the problems that America has. We need alternate trade partners and right now we can make it clear to the U.S. by not buying their products. I know that is not possible for everything, especially for families that cannot afford to be picky or spend time reading every label but I know we can try. If costs on American products go up...perhaps we will see many alternatives and by all means ask for more when you are shopping. The stores will listen because we are their clients and they after all are Canadians!

Politicians of any kind are not educated in what books should appear in libraries. Oh my goodness - the minister was "alerted " to 4 books but of course he never read them, too delicate I suppose. Did he consult a librarian or a psychologist or just listen to a fringe group? Typical silliness of the UCP non-conservative party.
