This high end property argument really is getting tiresome. No one is talking about first home buyers moving into higher end homes.
There are plenty of Canmore residents who would like to upgrade their home; those upgrading to higher end homes open upper mid and lower end properties to those trying to get into the market.

This is a great idea; there is absolutely a need for more ice in town.
Although I am somewhat confused that Mr Pettigrew would vote against this but be the only one pushing to go ahead with the rotary park rink.
Did somebody say rotary club conflict of interest?

$300? Why are these fines so low? Should be 10x that amount as a starting point.
It’s basic knowledge to not leave food unattended in the park, and even as first time visitors there is signage everywhere.

Wow, 2 years at home for destroying the homes of 175; ironic and sad.
Call me crazy, but that seems light…pun intended.

I see pursuit must have opened up the cheque book for some of the higher ups in Parks Canada again. It’s an important step to get that cash cow up and running again.

Pray to the lord for more fossil fuels and he will provide. I just hope there is never a major fire that traps you and your family on the edge of your flat world.

This is the same conversation every time:
Canmore residents, “we need a solution to the lack of housing”
Also Canmore residents “oh but not in my area”

There is a clear and obvious solution here. One lane for vehicles, one-way, from Banff to Johnston canyon west bound.
Cyclist/walkers get a the other lane to Johnston Canyon.
Traffic both ways from Castle Junction to Johnston Canyon. Return to Banff only via trans Canada.
Done.

Obviously you don’t visit all that regularly if you are unaware that the entire issue revolves around traffic/cars. An issue that has existed long before the pedestrian zone, despite what Rick and friends say.
And yes, the solution is to limit vehicles within the townsite, especially those such as yourself who are so determined to drive everywhere. Those who insist on driving to the gondola, or those who circle town in the hope of finding that one parking spot 20 meters closer.
As for eating a meal on a lively Banff avenue, enjoying the outdoors; fortunately there are numerous options for you to dine indoors. Or better yet maybe you could enjoy some take out within the safe confines of your vehicle.
It’s very clear that some are willing to embrace change, while others will remain ‘confused’.

Why? Which part of ‘Buy Canadian’ do you not understand. Having wealthy US tourists spend their money in Canada, on Canadian owned hotels, restaurants and stores is the definition of ‘Buying Canadian’. It is taking their strong USD, which Trump so desperately wants Americans to keep within their on economy, and pumping it into the Canadian economy.
