ST. PAUL – St. Paul RCMP responded to two serious reports involving incidents at or near convenience stores in October.
On Oct. 10 at 2 a.m., St. Paul RCMP responded to a report of an armed robbery at 7-Eleven, located on main street in St. Paul.
Two men reportedly entered the store with was police later determined to be a replica handgun and stole money and food items, according to police.
RCMP are asking the public if they have any information about the incident to contact Crime Stoppers or St. Paul RCMP at 780-645-8888.
Foisy Store
A few days later on Oct. 13 at about 2 p.m., St. Paul RCMP responded to a report of an attempted armed robbery with a firearm at Foisy Store, which is a rural convenience store located along Highway 36.
“The victim and his family were having lunch at the Foisy store when he observed a male attempting to steal his vehicle,” according to RCMP.
“The victim confronted the male and entered into a physical altercation with him in effort to prevent the theft, at this time a second suspect exited a vehicle and pointed a firearm at the victim,” reported police.
The suspects allegedly fled the area in a vehicle that was later determined to be stolen.
Two of the suspects were arrested in the City of Edmonton after a police operation by Edmonton Police Service and the third suspect was arrested on Highway 28 near Smoky Lake after a police pursuit.
Corey Clouthier, 25, of Cold Lake, Dakota Marchinko, 25, of Edmonton, and Vincent Nordli, 25, of Edmonton, were charged with numerous offences including robbery with a firearm, flight from police, possession of stolen property, and numerous firearms related offences, according to RCMP.
All three were remanded into custody pending bail hearings. Marchinko was set to appear in court on Nov. 2, while Nordli and Clouthier have Nov. 9 court dates scheduled to speak to bail.
