Autopsy results find potential link in shooting deaths

It has been advised that Father Gilbert Dasna died as a result of gunshots on Friday May 6, and the RCMP believe that John Carlos Quadros is responsible for Father Dasna's death, according to a RCMP press release.

Father Dasna was shot dead inside the St. Paul rectory on Friday evening, his death remains under investigation pending firearms and forensic investigation.

Quadros died in an exchange of gunfire with RCMP on Friday evening, following a multiple vehicle collision between a black Dodge truck, driven by Quadros, and an RCMP vehicle. Quadros’ death remains under investigation by the Alberta Serious Incident Response Team.

Three RCMP officers were injured as a result of the Friday's violence. Two male officers have been released from hospital, while the female officer, who was driving the RCMP vehicle involved in the collision, remains in hospital with serious damage to her legs and feet.

Vigils for Father Dasna will be held on Friday at the St. Paul Cathedral at 7p.m., and on Saturday at the Church of the Sacred heart Saddle Lake, at 7:30 p.m. Father Dasna's funeral is scheduled for Monday.
