ST. PAUL - The case of a St. Paul RCMP officer facing child exploitation charges continues to move through the Court of King’s Bench, with his next appearance scheduled for August.

Evan Peacock was first charged in April 2024 after an investigation by ALERT’s Internet Child Exploitation (ICE) unit. He was accused of possessing, distributing, and accessing child pornography. He was released under court conditions and suspended from duty with pay. Court records also indicate Peacock elected to be tried by a judge alone rather than by a jury, but no specific plea has been entered on his court file.

In June 2024, the Alberta RCMP’s Eastern Alberta District General Investigative Section launched a separate investigation into Peacock for allegedly soliciting sex with underage females online. He was later charged with child luring and breaching his release conditions.

On June 17, the Crown filed an indictment, moving the case from provincial court to the Court of King’s Bench. He was scheduled to appear for arraignment on July 7 in St. Paul. The matter was adjourned without a plea being entered.

Peacock is due back in Court of King’s Bench on Tuesday, Aug. 5, followed by a pre-trial conference on Sept. 18.
