A motorcyclist received non-life threatening injuries on June 19 when he lost control of his bike while accelerating and turning east onto 50th Ave, off of Hwy 881.

A flatbed truck and the motorcycle were turning at the intersection when the motorcyclist attempted to pass the truck by entering the south lane. The driver lost control on some loose gravel, throwing the driver off the bike, according to information from St. Paul RCMP.

“The motorcycle then continued into the path of the truck, becoming lodged underneath the passenger side steps,” says the release. The driver was taken to hospital and no charges have been laid in the incident.

On June 23, St. Paul RCMP was called to a hit and run at the Hwy 29 and Range Road 101 intersection. An eastbound SUV driving on Hwy 29 hit a northbound truck when the truck ran a stop sign.

The SUV swerved in an attempt to avoid the truck but ended up striking the truck on the rear driver’s side. The truck then left the scene after hitting the ditch twice.

RCMP are looking for a grey Chevrolet truck. The driver is described as a native male in his mid 40s. The driver had a medium sized dog in the cab of the truck with him.

RCMP is warning the public about a rash of ATV thefts in the area after several complaints were received last week.

Police advise that owners do not leave keys in the ignition of their ATVs and are asking the public to report any suspicious persons.

St. Paul RCMP have charged a male youth with assault with a weapon after an incident happened at the Saddle Lake Powwow. RCMP also received complaints of people getting sprayed with bear spray. The incidents are believed to be gang related.
