Dogs attack man in Saddle Lake

The man was walking along a road on the reserve at around midnight, when he was mauled, according to an RCMP press release. He and two relatives were passing in front of a residence when all of a sudden a dog, described as a pitbull or bulldog, launched at the victim and bit into his face. Other dogs, which reportedly belong to the same homeowner, also attacked and bit the male on the arm and hand. The victim's relatives tried to fight off the dogs, however the attack did not end until the homeowner pulled the dogs away.

The victim sustained extensive lacerations to his face and arms and is recovering in hospital. The attack is still under investigation

Two females were reportedly sexually assaulted at the Myrnam Ball Tournament, on June 9th and 10, 2012, and police are looking for the public’s assistance in identifying the person or people involved, according to a Two Hills RCMP press release.

In the early morning hours of June 9, an RCMP member was on patrol at the Myrnam Ball Tournament when he saw a female in distress, who required an ambulance. The 15-year-old had been sexually assaulted by an unknown male. She was transported to Two Hills Hospital and later released.

On June 10, again in the early morning, a Two Hills RCMP member was flagged down at the Myrnam Ball Tournament and was advised that a 16-year-old female had just been sexually assaulted. The female, who's name cannot be released, was transported to hospital and later released.

During the early morning hours of June 15, St Paul RCMP arrested two adult males for mischief after they were found painting graffiti on the side of the St. Paul Shopping Centre. Witnesses observed the two men, aged 22 and 21, painting large letters on the side of the building and called police. The two suspects were located driving away from the scene and RCMP arrested them.

The vehicle that the suspects were driving was seized by RCMP and searched under the authorization of a court order. During the search, a number of cans of spray paint were located.

Both males have been released from custody and are due to appear in St. Paul Provincial Court where they will face a charge of mischief under $5,000.

Last week, RCMP in Saddle Lake arrested the third youth who is suspected of being part of a vandalism spree in which the Saddle Lake band office was trashed and the high school was set on fire on June 10. The third youth will face the same charges as the other two suspects, which include arson, break and enter and mischief over $5,000.
