GOODRIDGE - On April 22, the Goodridge 4-H Beef Club did its annual farm tour.

A farm tour is when we go around to all the club members’ farms and look at their projects for the year. We travelled from Lac La Biche County to Franchere. At every stop we would get out and see their beef project and give positive feedback.

Every farm had something to show, some highlights were, at the Kwiatkowski’s farm where they showed us how they mix their own food ration. At the Kissel’s farm we were lucky enough to see a cow that had successfully received a C-section a few days before.

The club has a variety of different breeds of cattle which include Red and Black Angus, Simmental, and Herford. Towards the end of the tour, we had a card judging practice at our club leader Wes Janz’s house. At the end of the day, we ended at Nick Janz’s Farm and had a potluck dinner.

Our club is busy getting ready for our Show day and Heifer Show on Saturday and Sunday, May 20 and 21. Then the District Show and Sale will follow quickly after on June 5.
