Goodridge 4-H keeps busy through the season

GOODRIDGE - This year the Goodridge 4-H Beef Club decided to switch things up. Instead of our farm tour we held a mini show.

This was an amazing learning opportunity for everyone, including all the members that attended, and even some adults. Every member who brought their calves had the opportunity to weigh their calves, take a picture with their calves, and clip their calves, with the help of our two wonderful presenters, Ethan and Kurt Yaremko, from Carpathian Land and Livestock.

These two young gentlemen taught us how to properly clip and groom our calves, as well as gave us useful tips on how to correctly present ourselves alongside our animals, to the judges, while we are in the show ring. We would like to give a huge thank you to these young gentlemen who gave us a wonderful presentation, which was very informative to all members, and will help every member on achievement day.

We all hope we see these presenters in the future.

We would also like to say a big thank you to our photographer Kailey Wirsta, who will be making our catalogue. We would also like to thank Nutrien Ag Solutions, St. Paul for supplying all the members, who attended with some goody pails that will come in handy on show day.

The club also held its achievement day on May 25.
