GOODRIDGE - The Goodridge 4-H Beef Club had a wonderful experience at their club achievement day this year.
Every member showed their projects, and did some card judging. The club would like to thank all of our sponsors, and supporters who made this day a success. All of our members did amazing, and everyone should be so proud.
We would like to congratulate our winners, starting with the Grand Champion Steer, won by Austin Kwiatkowski. The Reserve Champion Steer was Ty Kwiatkowski.
Naya Janz, whose steer gained 4.2lbs per day, won the Rate of Gain prize.
Grand and Reserve Champion heifers were Shelby Sarafinchan and Naya Janz.
Two-year-old Cow/Calf Pair Champion was Abigail Janz and Reserve Champion was Sierra Robinson.
This year, we also had a Top Female award and that went to Abbigail Janz with her two-year-old cow/calf, and Shelby Sarafinchan coming in second with his heifer.
Showmanship awards went to: Junior, Aurora Janz; Intermediate, Kali Janz; and Senior was Naya Janz.
The grooming winners were: Junior, Sierra Robinson; Intermediate, Kali Janz; and Senior Ty Kwiatkowski.
In card judging some of the placings were very close, but for first place in the junior category was Sierra Robinson; first place for the intermediate category was Kali Janz; and in first place for seniors was Naya Janz.
During this show, everyone was learning throughout the entire day, with our wonderful judges Dan, and Heather Brundige giving helpful tips, and tricks. While our members were grooming we had some fun judging activities for all of our spectators, and the winner of that was Jorja Hagen, who did an excellent job judging plates and chore gloves.
Some of the other cards were pretty interesting, with one having to be read aloud, for entertainment.
