ST. PAUL - A structure fire in St. Paul on March 16 was intentionally set, according to Fire Chief Trevor Kotowich, and the matter has been turned over to RCMP.

Kotowich confirmed the St. Paul Fire Department responded to a call at about 8 a.m. on Tuesday in the 4600 block of 47th Ave., in the Town of St. Paul.

"Upon arrival, a male occupant needed to be removed from the home, and ultimately fire crews extinguished the fire," said Kotowich.

St. Paul RCMP Cst. Monnika Fehr confirmed police responded to the fire, and charges were laid against a 35-year-old woman, who was remanded for court on March 18.

EMS also responded to the fire, and transported the man to hospital. He is in stable condition, said Fehr on Wednesday.
