Edmonton resident John Halfe appeared in St. Paul Provincial Court on Thursday to face Wildlife Act charges from Operation Griffon, the fifth time his charges have come up in court.
Halfe requested more time to find a lawyer. The presiding judge at docket day adjourned proceedings until July 28 and said Halfe had better find a lawyer soon. A trial date would be set at the next court date whether he has a lawyer or not, he said.
Halfe told the judge he had trouble finding a lawyer to take on the case.
Jo Lynn Schwark has entered a not guilty plea to charges from Operation Griffon, while one individual and a business have not yet entered pleas to the charges of unlawful trafficking of eagle and hawk feathers and possession for the purpose of trafficking.
