A former St. Paul resident was back in town last week to promote her first CD. Michelle Joly released an independent CD called “You’re not alone” and performed songs at Café Orleans for family and friends on Wednesday.

Joly, who graduated from Regional High School in 1998 as Michelle Bahrynowski, has lived in St. Paul off and on for all of her life, she says. Now she teaches private music lessons and lives in Red Deer.

She describes her music as “soulful folk pop.” Joly is working on a follow up album she hopes to release by Christmas.

Joly has toured to Newfoundland and back promoting her new CD and plans to continue playing several shows a week until finishing the tour in B.C. Sept. 3.

“It’s been really awesome. We’ve had great feedback and sold CDs at every single show,” she says. “It was a really, really great experience for us.”
