The third annual Ranch Rodeo offered competitors and spectators an afternoon of entertainment as eight teams took to the saddles and competed in a variety of unique rodeo-style events.

“It was a fun-filled afternoon,” said Linda Richter, one of the organizers of the event and a volunteer with the St. Paul Ag Society. The group is already looking at organizing a similar event for next year.

This year the event offered a new event with the sled race.

“I think the crowd really enjoyed that,” said Richter, adding, other events included cattle rustling, branding, and sorting/penning.

After the points were tallied, first place was awarded to Wolf Lake, with 280 points. Riders included Kevin Picray, Dave Mielke, Lianna Grayson and Andrew Grayson.

Second place was awarded to Duralta Farms, which was made up of Dwayne Durie, Boyd Twerdclib, Ken Larren, and Les Buyers. The team finished with 270 points.

Third place was awarded to Rannoch Community Pasture with 200 points. The team consisted of Bill Chesney, Jodie Flagi, Brice Etherington, and Dave Durie.

Fourth place was won by Three Old Men and a Chick. The team tallied 190 points and was made up Jack Mahon, Roy Mahon, Ken McKenny, and Tania Hancock.
