RCMP looking for wanted man following serious assault

ST. PAUL - St. Paul RCMP are asking the public to help locate a wanted man in relation to a serious assault in the early morning of Oct. 28.

The suspect fled prior to police arriving on scene, and he has not been located. A warrant has been issued for his arrest.

Lyle Tyson Cardinal, 44, of Saddle Lake Cree Nation is wanted for assault with a weapon (x2), assault causing bodily harm, uttering threats (x3) and theft of motor vehicle.

Cardinal is described as First Nation, six-feet tall and weighing 209 lbs. He is bald and has brown eyes.

Cardinal’s current whereabouts are unknown. Police are asking the public not to approach him, but to contact police immediately if they see him.
