SPAEC and EPOS honour graduating class of 2024

Graduating students from St. Paul Alternate Education Centre (SPAEC) and Elk Point Outreach School (EPOS) were celebrated on June 7.

ST. PAUL - Graduating students from St. Paul Alternate Education Centre (SPAEC) and Elk Point Outreach School (EPOS) were celebrated on June 7.

They were surrounded by friends, family and supporters during the afternoon celebration held at the St. Paul Senior Citizens' Centre. 

Students each faced unique challenges on their journey toward their high school graduation. During the ceremony, graduates were presented with their portfolio and introduced to those in attendance. 

Principal Breana Malcolmson addressed the graduates, acknowledging their "years of hard work," to get to this point. She encouraged them to celebrate their achievements, along with the obstacles they've encountered.

She told graduates that while the road ahead may not always be easy, but, "the best is yet to come and the journey continues."

Malcolmson also asked graduates to stop by and visit, and to remember they are always welcome at the outreach schools.

"We truly want to see you succeed," she said.

This year's graduating class from SPAEC includes: Saidie Auger, Sarah Cardinal, Hayden Eluik, Alexis Fulton, Caillen Hartford, Corwin Lapatack, Hayden Ledoux-Watson, Lok Loe, Kaylen Mackenzie, Waseskwan Quinn, Kyrian Soosay-Amyotte, and Cassara Stone.

Graduating from EPOS is Hunter Ramsay and Ryan Youngchief-Sanregreet.

Citizenship Award - Alexis Fulton (SPAEC)

Knowledge & Employability - Hayden Ledoux, Corwin Lapatak (SPAEC)

Most Improved - Waseskwan Quinn (SPAEC)

Norma Robinson Award - Alexis Fulton (SPAEC)

Resilience Award - Kaylen Mackenzie (SPAEC)

Living Your Truth - Hayden Eluik (SPAEC)

Award of Excellence - Hunter Ramsay (EPOS)
