ST. PAUL – St. Paul Minor Ball is running an online 50/50 fundraiser after its field maintenance vehicle was stolen and damaged two weeks ago.
The field maintenance vehicle, a John Deere Gator utility vehicle, was stolen on July 4, according to Greg Laramee, president of the club.
“We recovered it the same day, but it was deemed inoperable,” he said.
The front and steering linkage were damaged with some parts missing. The battery, front clip, gear, and key of the gator were also missing.
To raise funds for a replacement, the club is running the 50/50 raffle, with participants having the chance to win up to $10,000. To buy a ticket, visit: go.raffle-rocket.com/Get-a-New-Gator

Several St. Paul minor ball teams are still in action as they head into provincial tournaments over the next two weeks, according to Laramee.
The U19 softball team is at home hosting the U19 D-level provincial championship in St. Paul from July 18 to 20.
Another mixed U17 and U19 girls' softball squad will also compete at the U19 C-level provincials this weekend in Blackfalds.
On the baseball side, the 13U AA team is playing in the Tier 5 provincial tournament in Barrhead, while the 15U AA team is competing in Spruce Grove. Both baseball teams will play in their championship tournaments from July 25 to 27.
