Bonnyville massage therapist's sexual assault charges stayed

BONNYVILLE - The Bonnyville massage therapist charged with two counts of sexual assault, Jason Traxler, has had his charges stayed.

The decision, which is made by the Crown prosecutor's office, means the discontinuation of prosecution on both sexual assault charges, however they can be brought back to the courts within a year of when the stay was filed, which in this case was Nov. 29.

Traxler, a 49-year-old Bonnyville man, was charged with two counts of sexual assault earlier this year following accusations he had touched two of his female clients inappropriately during massage therapy sessions.

No further information was provided by the Canadian court system on the reason the charges were stayed.
