The Tier 3 U-13 Provincial Championships began at the Lac La Biche Bold Center on Thursday night.

The host-team Lac La Biche Clippers faced-off with the U-13 Northern Alberta Interlock league champion Athabasca Hawks. The Clippers lost the opening game to the Hawks. The night's second game saw the Edmonton SWAT Bearpack face-off with the Blindman Valley Broncos from the Rimbey area.

Community breakfasts Friday and Saturday

Friday morning in Lac La Biche starts with a community pancake breakfast at the Bold Center Community room.  A second morning breakfast takes place on Saturday. Both breakfast events are $5 a plate and open to the public. Proceeds from the breakfasts go to local groups.

The official opening ceremonies for the Plamondon Provincials go Friday at 1:45 pm at the Plamondon Arena.
