BONNYVILLE - Ken Christensen received a very welcomed Christmas gift when he checked his Dec. 23 Lotto 6/49 Super Draw ticket a few days later.
Christensen won an impressive $100,010 in the lottery, according to information from AGLC and Western Canada Lottery Corporation.
The winning ticket was purchased at the Red Rooster located at 5402 50 Avenue in Bonnyville. Christensen returned to the store a few days later to check his ticket.
“I scanned my ticket on the self-checker,” he said. “When I saw the amount come up on the screen I felt really calm.”
Christensen said he is going to put his winnings toward bill payments, home renovations and investments.
The Dec. 23 LOTTO 6/49 Super Draw offered 10 $100,000 guaranteed prizes to be won. Christensen won by matching his ticket’s Guaranteed Prize draw number to one of the 10 extra winning numbers drawn.
His winning selection was 31734297-01. Christensen also won an additional $10 in subsidiary prizes.
