A taxi driver reported a passenger after he punched the window of his vehicle, and assaulted a random man.

On Saturday, Oct. 5, Bonnyville RCMP received a complaint around 2 a.m. from the driver regarding an aggressive passenger.

“Due to the good description of the male, members were able to locate him walking on the highway,” explained Sgt. Kim Hillier.

The 41-year-old Edmonton man was charged with assault and mischief.

Warrant recovers over 25 stolen tools

RCMP have arrested two people after Bonnyville Bolt Supply reported a male and female who provided fake purchase order numbers and walked away with a number of items on Sept. 27.

The suspects were later identified as 36-year-old Stephen Hurst and 29-year-old Krystal Wojcik.

Hurst was charged with theft over $5,000, fraud greater than $5,000, and five counts of failing to comply with conditions. Wojcik was charged with two counts of fraud and one count of theft over $5,000.

“A subsequent search warrant… based on the investigation, yielded over 25 of the tools that were reported stolen along with some other interesting things,” Hillier noted.

RCMP request assistance with ongoing investigation

After a break-in at Pelican Storage in Bonnyville, RCMP is requesting information from anyone who might know more.

A complaint was filed on Oct. 6 after a man attended the facility and found his storage area was broken into.

“He went to pick up his motor home and found the door pried open, extensive damage throughout, and the investigation is ongoing,” Hillier said.

Anyone who saw anything around the Pelican Storage area on 45 St. in Bonnyville on Friday, Oct. 4 or Saturday, Oct. 5 is asked to call RCMP at 780-434-7200.

Lock-up at night

After receiving multiple complaints over the weekend, the RCMP is reminding residents to lock their vehicles and remove valuables.

“They occurred overnight on Oct. 6, so if anyone saw anything, is missing anything, or had their vehicle rummaged through, please contact the RCMP,” said Hillier
