Alternative therapy is becoming more of a viable option for residents in the Lakeland.

Owner of Take Care Therapy Judy Pszyk invited the public to get a better understanding of the practice and the healing methods offered on Wednesday, Nov. 22, during an open house.

Drawing inspiration from her own experiences, Psyzk decided to launch the natural healing home after recognizing a need in the region.

“I had a vision of having a place of healing and wholeness. I had cancer myself and wasn't given very good odds to live. Well, here I am 34 years later. At that time, I could see where the medical community needed support. I felt like we needed a place for people to come for alternative therapy,” she explained.

After going through successful treatments, Pszyk decided to become a certified CranioSacral therapist. She uses gentle touch in areas such as the head, neck, and spine to treat various ailments.

With the help of her husband, Pszyk opened Take Care Therapy. Hoping to create a more holistic experience, she invited four other natural healers to operate out of the facility.

Those with physical issues, such as muscle or joint pain, can take their pick between CranioSacral therapy with Pszyk, pulsed elecro-magnetic therapy at Donna's Wave of Wellness, or massage therapy at ReJenuvate Massage.

Patients can also talk through any issues they're having at Heal With Kim, operated by certified mental health coach Kim Dechaine.

“I'm very passionate about mental health, and helping people that are struggling to cope with life. I work with them to create specific plans, and I help them implement strategies in their life to help them heal,” Dechaine said.

But it's not only people, Take Care Therapy offers alternative healing for pets as well. Residents can take their dog, cat, or horse to Health 4 My Pets. The service is offered by Phil and Doreen Kushnir, who also operate Quest 4 Health Bonnyville out of the facility.

“It's wonderful because we have a team here. We all have our specialties, but we work together and send people to each other. Our focus is always to help, and get to the root cause of the problem. We want people to be healthy and whole,” expressed Pszyk.

While each of the businesses operating within Take Care Therapy are practices, owners have gone out of their way to ensure patients feel comfortable and at home.

The welcoming atmosphere and convenient location of the facility can make a world of difference to those who utilize the services on a regular basis. Instead of spending hours on the road, residents have access to natural healing in their own backyard.

“It's just very relaxing when you come into this kind of an environment. It doesn't have that hospital feel. It feels like home, and I don't have to drive to Edmonton or one of the larger cities, that saves a lot of time,” said local resident Jeannette Lange.

Whether their ailment is physical, mental, or spiritual, the team encouraged anyone searching for a solution to give natural healing a try.

“If you're feeling frustrated because you're not getting the help you want, consider coming to Take Care Therapy. There will surely be somebody that can help you,” said Pszyk.
