There's less than a week to go before Bif Naked invades the Centennial Centre in Bonnyville and the anticipation is building.

She will be in living colour at the C2 on Friday July 23, playing a special acoustic performance. It might be different for fans who know Bif as Canada's favourite punk princess but she says she enjoys the different atmosphere that comes with an acoustic set.

“I did a few acoustic shows in the spring and I really like the ability I get to interact more with the crowd,” she told the Nouvelle during a phone interview from Vancouver. “I'm also able to explore my voice a little bit more. It basically allows a more intimate and interactive experience for everyone.”

She also pointed out that her set list will draw on not only material from her most recent album “The Promise” but also feature a number of her other well-known hits that she has compiled throughout her impressive career.

“We're going to be playing a whole lot of songs,” she said. “There's going to be some new stuff but also a lot of songs that my fans will be familiar with.”

This will be Bif's first foray to the Bonnyville area but she said that she's really looking forward to playing in front of a new group of fans.

“I love Alberta,” she said. “And I always like going to new places. I've played in Lloydminster and Fort McMurray before, I just like playing anywhere we can.”

She also had a message to her fans attending the show.

“Everybody come out and come early. There's so many people around the world that don't have the opportunity to just have a day off and listen to great music. We're so lucky to be able to do that and I hope Bonnyville comes out and enjoys our show.”

The show is scheduled for the Flint Field House inside the C2 on Friday, July 23, starting at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are still available and are $37 in advance at the welcome desk at the C2 or $45 at the door.
