BONNYVILLE – Book lovers will once again be able to look through the stacks and shelves to pick out their next novel to read.
The Bonnyville Municipal Library opened its doors to the public on Monday, March 8 after the province announced they were part of step two of easing of restrictions.
Due to the provincial mandates, only 15 patrons will be allowed inside the library at one time. The local branch will be opened Monday to Thursday from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. and on Fridays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
While the library was closed, patrons were able to continue to check out books and other items by curbside pickup. This service will still be available to those who would prefer it.
“The library will continue to be flexible to patrons who prefer the service,” noted Leah Woodford, library manager.
Exam invigilation, computers, and study space are limited. Those interested in using these amenities are encouraged by library staff to book an appointment.
“Library programs will remain on our virtual platforms,” said Woodford. “There will be no in library programming until further notice.”
The public washrooms and water fountain will remain closed. For more information, call the local branch at 780-826-3071.
