Bonnyville RCMP investigating armed robbery

BONNYVILLE - Local police are investigating an armed robbery that took place at roughly 7:20 a.m. today.

Bonnyville RCMP were dispatched this morning to an armed robbery involving a stolen truck and multiple armed suspects. The vehicle has since been located abandoned southwest of Kehewin Cree Nation.

Police are currently trying to determine the whereabouts of the suspects by utilizing RCMP police dog services.

According to RCMP, five suspects were involved in the robbery and police are asking anyone who recognizes the people pictured to contact the local detachment at 780-343-7200.

RCMP stress that the public shouldn't approach the suspects as they're suspected to be armed and dangerous. Officers are also asking the public not to approach a stolen dark blue Dodge Caravan with Alberta license plate BZJ 8669 or the suspects inside, which may also be related to the robbery. Instead, anyone who comes across the vehicle should contact police immediately.
