BONNYVILLE - Parents are being reminded by local RCMP to be careful when it comes to allowing their children to play online games.
A local mother contacted police on Feb. 13 after her child had experience inappropriate behaviour on an online gaming platform called Roblox - MeepCity.
Following this incident, Bonnyville RCMP are reminding parents to be cautious when allowing children to play online, because in many cases players can communicate through text and voice chat.
RCMP suggest reviewing the settings of a game or gaming system before allowing a child to play online, as it could prevent or limit contact with unknown players, as well as having a discussion with your children about reporting unwanted behaviour.
