Bonnyville RCMP Report: Man arrested after pulling out loaded firearm during argument

BONNYVILLE - A heated argument inside a residence ended with one man being charged after he pulled out a loaded firearm.

On June 7, around 2:30 p.m., Bonnyville RCMP responded to a complaint that during a verbal dispute, a 32-year-old pointed a loaded firearm at another male inside the residence.

Through investigation, the suspect was arrested and charged with four offences under the Criminal Code, including pointing a firearm, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, unauthorized possession of a firearm, and unsafe storage.

The suspect was released on an undertaking to appear in Bonnyville court on Sept. 1.

Woman with knife resists arrest

Bonnyville RCMP were called to a residence on June 6 after a woman refused to leave and was believed to be under the influence of drugs.

When officers arrived, the woman had a knife and attempted to resist arrest. The 24-year-old woman from Kehewin was arrested, and loaded needles were found in the vicinty of the suspect.

She was transported to Bonnyville cells and released the following day on an undertaking to appear in court Sept. 1.

Theft from CNRL 

The foreman of Bonnyville CNRL called local police on June 7 at 6:30 a.m. to report a break and enter to a warehouse.

Several vehicles were damaged and a vehicle had been stolen from the site.

Impaired ATV driver

A 37-year-old man was caught holding a can of beer while driving his ATV.

On June 9, just after 4 p.m., officers patrolling the Glendon area noticed the man driving at the intersection of 49 Ave. and 51 St. in the village. Members stopped the man and administered the roadside screening device.

The man blew a fail and was issued a 30-day suspension and 7-day seizure.

Unlicensed driver gets vehicle towed

After receiving a report of a suspicious vehicle at Range Rd. 474 and Hwy. 660, Bonnyville RCMP officers located the vehicle and found the driver had no driver's license, registration, or insurance.

The vehicle was towed, multiple violation tickets were issued, and a courtesy ride was provided to the man to Kehewin with his belongings.

RCMP on the lookout for suspicious vehicles

While conducting patrols of the Willow Ridge subdivision area at 3 a.m. on June 10, Bonnyville RCMP officers noticed a suspicious vehicle driving with no lights on. The vehicle was driving slowly and appeared to be checking out properties.

The suspect vehicle, an older model white GMC/Chevrolet quad cab dually, fled the area as the member approached, travelling east.

The investigation is also ongoing after a Blue GMC Yukon fled from police.

On June 10, just before midnight, Bonnyville RCMP attempted to conduct a traffic stop with the vehicle, which didn't have a valid license plate, at Range Rd. 461 and Township Rd. 604.

The vehicle didn't stop and fled at a high rate of speed west on Hwy. 28.

Young males caught stealing fuel

A resident caught two young men red-handed, stealing fuel from farm machinery on Range Rd. 455.

The complaint called RCMP on June 11 at 9:30 p.m., saying he scared the culprits away and they took off in a "beat up" 2005 white Ford F-350. A Jerry Can was found on-scene.

Anyone with similar reports is asked to contact the RCMP so they can assist in the investigation.

"Blacked out" man wanted after attack with knife

Bonnyville RCMP received multiple complaints about a 25-year-old man that had "blacked out" and attacked another male with a knife.

No injuries were sustained during the incident, which took place shortly after midnight on June 12.

The male fled the scene before police arrived.

RCMP are actively investigating and an arrest warrant has been requested for the 25-year-old Kehewin man.
