Antique vehicles stolen from Glendon area residence
Bonnyville RCMP Report

BONNYVILLE – On Dec. 5, Bonnyville RCMP received a report of a possible impaired driver on Hwy. 36 north of Hwy. 28. The vehicle was said to have been traveling east on Hwy. 28.

Members patrolled the area and located the vehicle on Hwy. 28 west of 66th St.

“The driver, a 42-year-old from Fort McMurray, was read the approved screening device demand and provided a sample that registered a fail,” explained Bonnyville Sgt. Kim Hillier. “The driver was issued an immediate suspension and a 30-day vehicle seizure.”

Semi-truck collides with cow

Bonnyville RCMP responded to a vehicle collision involving livestock. A complainant reported two cows in a ditch near Rge Rd. 482 on Hwy. 28 on Dec. 10.

“A semi-truck had struck one of the cows, killing it and causing his vehicle to be damaged and inoperable,” explained Hillier. “The other cow escaped harm but was wandering around the roadway.”

Members were able to contact the livestock owner and the cow was returned to his pasture. The driver of the semi-truck did not sustain any known injuries.

RCMP called to a ‘significant’ break-in

A residence located five miles outside of Glendon was the target of a "significant break-in."

All of the doors were reported as being opened and broken, the house was ransacked, and three antique vehicles are now missing.

“The complainant had been away and believes that it occurred over a few days,” Hillier noted.

Police continue to investigate and any information or tips from the public can be reported to the Bonnyville RCMP at 780-343-7200, or CrimeStoppers.

Vehicle stolen over night

On Dec. 8, RCMP received a report from someone whose red 1992 Chevy Astro van was stolen overnight.

The vehicle has a black hood and a blue extension cord wrapped around the roof rack. The reported theft occurred in the area of 47th St. And 44th Ave. in Bonnyville.

Security system thwarts would-be intruder

After receiving a notification from his security system, a resident called the RCMP reporting a man was trying to get into his home through his back door.

The would-be intruder then went to the garage, and noise could be heard coming from that area.

Members attended the residence, cleared the area, but didn’t find any forced entry indicators. No suspects were found on the scene.

Tools used in an overnight attempted break-in

Bonnyville RCMP received a report on Dec. 8 of an attempted break-in where someone attempted to use a tool that belonged to the complainant but were unsuccessful.

Members attended the residence to gather evidence and have been conducting focused patrols of the area since.

Any information that the public may have can be provided to the Bonnyville RCMP or Crime Stoppers.
